It was a contested record but after some controversy it was finally officially declared as the biggest dog in the world.

Giant George was born at 17 November, 2005. His weight is about 245 pounds and when he is standing is 43 inches tall.  The Great Dane sleeps on a Queen Size Bed, sits on a chair like a human and he eats 110 pounds of food every month.

Giant George is maybe one of the most present dog in social media because he has a website, a youtube channel, a twitter account and a Facebook page with thousands fans. Also, the big dog appeared at The Oprah Winfrey Show.

In XIX century, Norfolk spaniel was recognized as unique hunting dog in England. In the beginning of XX century, the bread was split in two: Welsh springer spaniel and English Springer spaniel (which we are talking about today). The bread was officially recognized in 1902 by English Kennel Club and 25 years later by American Kennel Club.

English Springer Spaniel’s objective was to force the hunt to leave his refuge. This make more facile the hunting. The bread is considered one of the most efficient hunting bread. The dogs are able to bring the hunt from water and from earth too.

Nowadays, the bread is recognized by the following clubs or associations: CKC, FCI, AKC, UKC, KCGB, CKC, ANKC, NKC, NZKC, CCR, APRI, ACR.

English Springer Spaniel is a medium compact sized dog with hanging long ears. His head is strong and proportional with his body. Head length is equal with the length of the neck. He has medium eyes which express gently and their color is brown or hazel. If the ears are pulled in front, their length should be enough to touch dog’s nose.  English Springer Spaniel’s fur is long, smooth, thick and water-repellent.

An adult can reach 20-25 kg (male) and 18-23 kg (female). The height can be 48-56 cm (male) 46-51 cm (female).

English springer Spaniel is smart, smart and also very loyal. He isn’t an excellent guardian dog (in fact he is a hunting dog), but they can cover this part to, because they are ready to announce when a strange is entering in your home. They love water and this is why you can find them many times wet or dirty.

It isn’t recommended to keep a dog like this in an apartment instead you are ready to give him hi’s doze of movement daily. He can be tolerant with other animals from your court but not with birds. Also, he is tolerant with children but not with strange people.

Due to their intelligence, this dogs can be trained very easy (even if some of them can be stubborn). During their training, you should make exercise which involve hunting.

Some experts said the Pugs are from West Europe and they were moved to Tibet by  some European merchants. Another theory said: The Pug is the result from a crossbreeding between french mastiff and small bulldog.

The Pug was present in many reach houses and regal courts during the history. In 1572 the Pug became the official dog of Orange House Holland after it saved William’s life, the Orange Prince of Holland. In 1790the Pug became Josephine’s (Napoleon’s wife) company dog. When Napoleon was imprisoned, the Pug helped Joshepine to communicate with him. They hid the letters in a Pugs collar.

Despite it is an old breed, it didn’t suffered big modifications. The pug is a small dog (it is the biggest small dog if we can say so), with a big head, strong body and it is cobby. The head is massive and round, with short and black nose. The eyes are prominent and expressive. Its back is short and legs are straight and strong and this offer him an elegant movement.

The height is 30-36 cm for male and 25-30 for female, and total wight is 6-10kg (6-8kg ).

It is very easy to train a Pug. They are very intelligent and playful. They want to be part of family and they can become jealous if they proprietary ignore them. They don’t need drastic punishments  because the pug is very sensible  to voice tonality. You can easy keep a pug in an apartment, because they don’t really need a court. It is a guardian dog, very devoted but not very active (but we can’t say it is inactive). The Pug don’t yelp to much.

If the time for movement is assured by proprietary daily, the Pug’s health will be great. The love games, and one hour daily is enough  for them.

This breed is predisposed to cold and they don’t like if the climate is to cold or to warm. Due to its short nose, a pug can suffer chronic affections.

The Cocker Spaniel derives his name from the expression “to cock”, meaning to drive game from cover. In fact, the Cocker Spaniel‘s original purpose in life was to flush out woodcock from the thick hedgerows, gorse and undergrowth of England. Being a good swimmer, he was also utilised for retrieving game from the water in marshland areas.
One of the smallest members of the gun dog family, the merry Cocker is today primarily a very handsome and much-loved household pet. However, we should not forget his sporting ancestry, and must ensure that he gets plenty of outdoor exercise. He adores country walks and is never happier that when foraging around. If this is not possible, an energetic game of ball or fetching a stick in the backyard will help satisfy his instinct to work, and keep him fit. Sensitive, highly intelligent and always anxious to please, the Cocker Spaniel is an affectionate and fun-loving dog. He adores children, and very much enjoys being included in family activities.
A hardy, long-lived, sturdily built little dog, the Cocker Spaniel is not susceptible to illness, although his long ears require ongoing care and attention, particularly in the grass seed season. His fine silky coat needs regular grooming and occasional trimming.

An extremely ancient breed, of majestic appearance, the Chow Chow was originally used in China as a hunter and guard dog and, on occasion, for herding cattle or even pulling sledges. His meat was considered a delicacy, resulting in the Chow being bred for his flesh and fur, thereby earning him the name of “The Cantonese Butchers’ Dog.” As if that wasn’t bad enough, when the first Chow Chows went to England, they were kept in zoos.

Rather lion-like in appearance, the Chow Chow is a massive, powerful and imposing animal with a dense two ply coat, complete with a big ruff around his neck. His unique features include his blue-black tongue and gums, distinctive scowling expression, and peculiar stilted gait.
Independent, arrogant and curiously detached, the Chow Chow tends to be rather aloof and suspicious and not prone to giving his friendship lightly. However, when he does bestow his friendship upon you, you feel extremely privileged, knowing you have an ally for life.

Protective in the extreme, the Chow Chow makes an excellent guard dog but is generally not fond of young children. He tends to be a one person or, in some instances, one family dog. He is very strong-willed with a stubborn streak and a definite mind of his own – therefore not the ideal subject for obedience training. Training and socialization of this breed must begin at a very young age.
