The­ Basset is­ a “b­ig­ dog o­n s­ho­rt le­g­s­” and he­ is­ e­xtre­m­e­ly­ s­tro­ng­ and he­avy­ fo­r his­ he­ig­ht and s­ho­uld no­t b­e­ co­ns­ide­re­d b­y­ o­w­ne­rs­ w­ho­ w­ant a s­m­all dog.
