Its popularity is growing nowadays. Springer Spaniel is used for hunting and he loves to have activity.

In XIX century, Norfolk spaniel was recognized as unique hunting dog in England. In the beginning of XX century, the bread was split in two: Welsh springer spaniel and English Springer spaniel (which we are talking about today). The bread was officially recognized in 1902 by English Kennel Club and 25 years later by American Kennel Club.

English Springer Spaniel’s objective was to force the hunt to leave his refuge. This make more facile the hunting. The bread is considered one of the most efficient hunting bread. The dogs are able to bring the hunt from water and from earth too.

Nowadays, the bread is recognized by the following clubs or associations: CKC, FCI, AKC, UKC, KCGB, CKC, ANKC, NKC, NZKC, CCR, APRI, ACR.

English Springer Spaniel is a medium compact sized dog with hanging long ears. His head is strong and proportional with his body. Head length is equal with the length of the neck. He has medium eyes which express gently and their color is brown or hazel. If the ears are pulled in front, their length should be enough to touch dog’s nose. English Springer Spaniel’s fur is long, smooth, thick and water-repellent.

An adult can reach 20-25 kg (male) and 18-23 kg (female). The height can be 48-56 cm (male) 46-51 cm (female).

English springer Spaniel is smart, smart and also very loyal. He isn’t an excellent guardian dog (in fact he is a hunting dog), but they can cover this part to, because they are ready to announce when a strange is entering in your home. They love water and this is why you can find them many times wet or dirty.

It isn’t recommended to keep a dog like this in an apartment instead you are ready to give him hi’s doze of movement daily. He can be tolerant with other animals from your court but not with birds. Also, he is tolerant with children but not with strange people.

Due to their intelligence, this dogs can be trained very easy (even if some of them can be stubborn). During their training, you should make exercise which involve hunting.

Originally of French lineage, the Basset is a scent-hound used for hunting on foot and tracking. His slow-moving ponderous ways and appealing clownish appearance belie his great intelligence.

Known to his fans as the armchair athlete because of his habit of lounging around the house, it is important that a pet Basset Hound be given sufficient exercise otherwise he can tend to put on weight.

The Basset is a hardy, extremely tolerant and devoted dog with a gentle disposition which makes him an excellent children’s pet.

Given the opportunity, the Basset Hound is a potential wanderer. One sniff at an interesting scent and away he goes, nose to the ground and tail aloft, apparently oblivious to anything or anybody. For this reason, it is essential that he lives in a home with a well-fenced yard. Because he does have a stubborn streak, the Basset requires firm but sympathetic handling. The Basset is a “big dog on short legs” and he is extremely strong and heavy for his height and should not be considered by owners who want a small dog.

With his guileless disposition, soulful eyes and comical ways, “Fred Basset”, as he is often affectionately nicknamed, is one of the real characters of the dog world. Bring him up with kindness, patience and affection and your world will be a brighter place because of him!
Ideal height 33 to 38 cm
Weight 23 to 28 kg

The breed is appreciated for its intelligence and its capability to perform easily.

The Labrador Retriever descends from Newfoundland (not in Labrador, as its name suggest), east of Canada. In the past, the Labrador was used for hunting, but, along the years, Labradors have become assistance dogs, police, military, rescue and detection dogs, field trial dogs, or simply wonderful pets, due to their intelligence, discipline, their balanced temperament, and also for their ability of understanding human beings.

The Labrador is a medium-large but compact breed, strong, rather longer than higher, athletic and with strong senses. These aspects allow the Labrador to accomplish both his duties as a hunter and as a family member.

There are two Labrador lines: English and American. The English line derives from England. Their appearance is different because they are massive and stumpy, compared to the American Labrador, which is supposed to be taller and lighter-built.

The Labrador Retriever is a very lovable affectionate dog; it has a short coat, double, thickset and repellent, in colours which can be chocolate, solid black and a creamy yellow with the coat being double layered and easy to take care of.

Relatively large, Labrador males typically weigh 30–36 kg (65–80 lb) and the females 25–32 kg (55–70 lb) under AKC standards, but some labs do become overweight and may weigh significantly more. Some adult labradors can reach 45 kg, or more.

Beagle is a hunter dog used for hunting rabbits. It is one of the smallest hunter dog. Beagle has a great smell and is very clever to find the hunted. Since 1950 Beagle is present year by year in top ten most loved breeds in United States.

Beagle’s origin date from 19th century when people use them to hunt rabbits. The breed appeared in British Islands and is believed it is the result of the crossbreeding among Harrier and some others hunter dog breeds.

Beagle’s are hunter dogs with small waist, short hair and long ears. Fell’s color is a combination of black, white and brown. The head is almost flat and is round. Beagle looks like a small English Foxhound.

The Beagle has an even temper and gentle disposition. Described in several breed standards as “merry” they are amiable and not generally aggressive or timid. Beagle enjoy company, and although they may initially be standoffish with strangers they are easily won over. Beagle make poor guard dogs for this reason, although their tendency to bark or howl when confronted with the unfamiliar makes them good watch dogs; in a 1985 study conducted by Ben and Lynette Hart the Beagle was given the highest excitability rating along with the West Highland White, Yorkshire Terrier, Miniature Schnauzer, Cairn Terrier, Fox Terrier and Terrier. Beagle are intelligent, but as a result of being bred for the long chase are single-minded and determined, which can make them hard to train. They are generally obedient but can be difficult to recall once they have picked up a scent and are easily distracted by smells around them. Beagle do not generally feature in obedience trials; while they are alert, respond well to food-reward training, and are eager to please, they are easily bored or distracted.
