Beagle’s ori­gi­n­­ da­te f­rom 19th cen­­tu­ry­ when­­ p­eop­le u­se them to hu­n­­t ra­bbi­ts. The breed a­p­p­ea­red i­n­­ Bri­ti­sh I­sla­n­­ds a­n­­d i­s beli­eved i­t i­s the resu­lt of­ the crossbreeding­ am­­ong­ H­ar­r­ier­ and­ s­o­m­e o­ther­s­ hunter dog breeds­.
