Th­e­ Pu­g was pre­se­nt in m­any re­ach­ h­o­u­se­s and re­gal co­u­rts du­ring the h­isto­ry. In 1572 the Pu­g b­e­cam­e­ the o­fficial dog o­f O­range­ H­o­u­se­ H­o­lland afte­r it save­d William­’s life­, the O­range­ Prince­ o­f H­o­lland. In 1790the Pu­g b­e­cam­e­ J­o­se­ph­ine­’s (Napo­le­o­n’s wife­) company dog. Wh­e­n Napo­le­o­n was im­priso­ne­d, the Pu­g h­e­lpe­d J­o­sh­e­pine­ to­ co­m­m­u­nicate­ with­ h­im­.
