The real history of pug is not so clear. We know that dogs from similar breed belonged to Buddhist monasteries from Tibet before year 400.
Some experts said the Pugs are from West Europe and they were moved to Tibet by some European merchants. Another theory said: The Pug is the result from a crossbreeding between french mastiff and small bulldog.
The Pug was present in many reach houses and regal courts during the history. In 1572 the Pug became the official dog of Orange House Holland after it saved William’s life, the Orange Prince of Holland. In 1790the Pug became Josephine’s (Napoleon’s wife) company dog.
