The Komondor
The Komondor is a livestock guardian dog breed originally from Hungary.
Even if it is still used in Hungary to protect sheeps, The Komondor become a very loved company dog.
During World War II, the Komodorok were used to protect military equipments. In the time many dogs have died on duty.
The Komondor temperament is like other guardian dogs. In case of trouble, it will try to defend his charges, otherwise it is a calm and steady. It is extremely gentle with the children of the family and affectionate with its family and friends. If it don’t fell the danger the Komondor will accept strangers but it will be wary with them.
The Komodorok are able-bodied and strong dogs. Male Komondorok are a minimum of 28 inches at the withers, but many are over 30 inches tall, making this one of the larger common breeds of dog
Komondors don’t suffer many heredity problems. Maybe because the breed has descended from centuries of hardy working stock, Komondors have few genetically linked problems. In particular, there is no evidence of the retinal eye problems found in other breeds, nor is there dwarfism or hereditary blood disorders
